Sidereal Clocks
Privacy Policy
Sidereal Clocks is a small Australian website for live astronomical clock displays and related enquiries. This page explains what is collected, what is optional, and how to change your choices.
Optional Analytics
Sidereal Clocks uses Google Analytics 4 only after you explicitly accept analytics. Until you accept, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and no GA4 requests are made by this site.
When analytics is accepted, the site sends controlled events for page views, clock-control interactions, display-kit downloads, enquiry starts and successful enquiry submissions. These events use sanitised paths and broad event labels only.
Analytics events do not include names, email addresses, company details, form messages, display-model text, precise coordinates, full query strings, URL fragments or sensitive referrer URLs.
Google may process device and browser information, approximate location, pages viewed and event timing when analytics is accepted. Sidereal Clocks does not use Google Analytics for advertising personalisation, remarketing or Google Signals.
Visit Counts Without Cookies
Separately from Google Analytics, our host Vercel counts page visits using its Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records the page visited, the referring site, and the country, browser and device type, and it cannot identify you. This tells us whether people visit the clocks and the display test pages. It runs whether or not you accept Google Analytics.
Your Choice
You can accept, decline or withdraw analytics consent at any time using the Analytics choices button shown on the site. If you decline or withdraw consent, the astronomical instruments and enquiry forms continue to work.
When consent is withdrawn, the site stops future analytics collection and clears applicable Google Analytics cookies that it can access from this domain.
Enquiry Forms
If you submit an enquiry, the form sends the details you provide to the Sidereal Clocks serverless enquiry endpoint. The enquiry is then sent by email through Resend so William Turner can reply personally.
Enquiry forms may include your name, email address, company or role, website, country, display information and message, depending on the form you use. These details are used to answer the enquiry and are not sent to Google Analytics.
Referral-Source Capture
The website preserves a simple enquiry-source field so Sidereal Clocks can understand which outreach links lead to real enquiries without putting that information into analytics. Links may use a source tag such as ?from=instagram, and the enquiry form may also include the external referring site if your browser provides one.
This referral-source information is included with the enquiry email only when you submit the form. It is not stored in the browser by Sidereal Clocks and is not sent to GA4.
Cookies And Local Storage
Before analytics consent, Sidereal Clocks does not load GA4 or set GA4 cookies. The site stores your analytics choice in local storage so it can remember whether you accepted or declined.
Some clock-face preferences may also be stored locally by your browser so the instrument can remember display options. These preferences are not sent to GA4 as event data.
