Astronomical clocks for architects & interior designers

A Sidereal Clock is a statement wall clock whose fourth hand is the Southern Cross, turning with the real sky and calibrated to one of twenty-four midnight-zero meridians, one for each time zone. We work with architects, interior designers, hotels and private clients to specify each clock for its wall, room and light.

Specification at a glance

Editions: 600 mm Salon, 900 mm Architectural, and the Twin Clocks (Northern and Southern faces as a pair). Bespoke sizes by discussion.
Faces: the Crux Movement (Southern Cross, clockwise) and the Northern Movement (Polaris and the Big Dipper, anticlockwise).
Display: a high-contrast circular display behind a clear architectural face, tuned for residences, galleries and low-light interiors, driven live by an astronomical ephemeris.
Frames: dark anodised aluminium, brushed brass or bronze, and timbers including American walnut, oak, cherry, maple, teak, rosewood, ebony and burl.
Calibration: each clock is set to its time zone’s midnight-zero meridian, one of twenty-four; standard time all year, no daylight-saving drift.
Status: prototype specification. Physical editions are not yet for sale; projects that register now are first in line.

How a commission works

Enquiry. Tell us about the space: the wall, the room, the light, the preferred size and finish, and your timeline.
Specification. We agree edition, face, frame and finish with you, and the time-zone meridian the clock will be calibrated to.
Making. The clock is built with specialist display, enclosure and calibration partners.
Installation. Delivery and installation are planned with the design team and site.
